Agenda

  1. Call to order.
  2. Consider previous meetings minutes.
  3. Variance agenda
    1. BZA21-017, 111 W. Dunedin. Homeowner Michael Reeves asks for variances to:
      1. Increase the height of a garage from 15′ to 24′. CC3332.38(G)
      2. Reduce the minimum side yard for a garage from 3′ to 0′, CC3332.26.
      3. Reduce the minimum side yard for the house from 5’ to 2.9’, where it currently is. CC3332.26
    2. CV21-022, 306 Leland Ave. Homeowner Kurt Mortensen, asks for variances to:
      1. Allow 2 separate 1-unit dwellings to be constructed on a single parcel to allow a 1-bedroom carriage house over the garage (property was originally 3 lots). CC3332.033.
      2. Allow the carriage house to front on a public alley. CC3332.19
      3. City Planning Comment: “Planning is generally supportive of this proposal but requests additional information in the form of building elevations. The Clintonville Neighborhood Plan (2009) recommends this location for single family, however it also states that the continued development of multifamily projects that will help to fill the gap for housing needs for young professionals and seniors, provide support for retail revitalization, and to support pedestrian activity(pg.4). The addition of a carriage house is generally consistent with this recommendation. Staff requests building elevations to review for consistency with the plan’s design guidelines.”
  4. Announce that the next meeting of the CAC will be on April 1, 2020, and the next meeting of the Zoning & Variance Committee will be April 28, 2021. Both meetings will be at 7:00 p.m.

  1. Pay to play ! If you have the money you can get any zoning changed to suit you ! Sad I guess you can call me jealous but I think everyone rich or poor should have to play by the same rules !!

    • Hi John – thanks for your message! CAC is an advisory committee to the city on these items so the final say still rests with the city regardless of how the CAC votes. Feel free to reach out to your respective commissioner or the chair with further feedback. This will be reviewed on Thursday’s (4/1) CAC Monthly meeting where people can also voice an opinion. If you need to determine who to contact – you can find the appropriate contact info here: https://www.clintonvilleareacommission.org/meet-our-commissioners/

  2. CAC should not allow house demolition on 99 Glenmont Rd. Demolition begin at 7 am. We can not sleep. People bought houses in this area because quiet neighborhood. Not any more because CAC allow any variances. Why CAC allow demolition in historic area. So many homeless people around and CAC allowed demolish house in good condition! Also nobody need higher or bigger garage. When this demolition approved? Where I can see record how CAC members vote on this demolition?

    • Hi Linda – the ultimate decision on what happens with any property rests with the city. CAC will provide their recommendation when possible but people are not required to get CAC approval. In this case, I don’t believe it was brought through for review by CAC. If you have more concerns, please contact your area commissioner or the chair – contact info available here: https://www.clintonvilleareacommission.org/meet-our-commissioners/

      • IF you have the money to bride any city official . You can get anything zoning approved . I have dealt with the city government and they are so corrupt they don’t even try to hide it anymore . Oh you want a 4 story house built on a vacant lot in Clintonville okay that will be no problem . And a four car garage with apartments on top no problem . Just wire my bribe money to my undisclosed account and we are good to go . I have actually seen two gigantic houses with those exact requests get built on Garden Rd . One built next to a one story small house . My dad had trouble getting a ranch style home built in 1962 on a lot mt Grandfather gave him at 145 garden rd . then when we sold my grandfathers home built in 1915 . A realtor bought it and resold it to a nice couple and sold the smaller lot on the west side of grandpas house to someone else . And the moved a house from morse road that a church had bought to make a larger parking lot . They stuck this house on a 40 foot wide lot where it sits today . Oh yes that couple that built the mansion on Garden road then bought a small house on garden that the owner didn’t get the permits to add on to his small house so that flagged him and it sat for 20 years just unfinished . Thenthe couple who the husband owns Columbus door company previous Dayton door co. he buys the house and lot for 460 k and bulldozes the house and builds asecond mansion that sold for $735,000.00 . Where the medium house price is 300 k .
