My family (my wife Julie Cronk and son Seth Crowell) and I have lived on East Torrence Road since 1999 – we love Clintonville!
I am a biology graduate of the College of Wooster, and I received a master’s degree in botany from The Ohio State University. I am retired from a 35-year career in environmental science and regulation, including positions at the Ohio EPA, US EPA, and a Columbus engineering and environmental consulting firm. My work focused on applied sciences, stream and wetland restoration, risk assessment, and federal and state surface water regulation.
I have dedicated my time to a variety of volunteer positions over the years, including the American Red Cross, the Harmony Project, Meals on Wheels, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Civitan, and the Ohio DNR Division of Natural Areas and Preserves. In CAC District 4, I have been involved as a volunteer in the ongoing restoration, planning and management of the Whetstone Prairie which I monitor annually for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. On summer Sundays, we enjoy supporting the Summer Concerts at Whetstone Park of Roses with our fellow North Columbus Civitan club members.
My community interests are in environmental quality, particularly surface water quality and stormwater issues, green infrastructure, greenspace, the Whetstone Prairie, and the Olentangy Trail. I joined the commission in 2021 with the overall goal of improving environmental quality of life for Clintonville residents.
