Michael Weinman Candidate Statement
I’m asking for your vote for the Clintonville Area Commission District 7 seat and in return I will use all of my experience and dedication to our community to represent you and our neighbors.
My wife, our two daughters, and I call Clintonville home.
We believe this is a very special place to raise a family in Columbus.
The Clintonville Area Commission position calls for someone who can work well with others, listen carefully, communicate ideas clearly, and find solutions to challenges and opportunities that present themselves.
For the past 15 years, I have used similar skills, working as a public policy and law enforcement liaison on behalf of the Columbus Police Department and the Ohio FOP.
Before joining the Columbus PD, I was in the U.S. Air Force where I earned an Associate Degree in the administration of justice before getting a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in criminology from The Ohio State University.
I worked as a patrolman for the Columbus PD until I was shot and paralyzed while investigating a single-car crash in 1998.
Now, I am seeking an elected position for the first time because I want to give back to a community that has given so much to my family and me.
We are all fortunate to live in a great neighborhood that is unique, and I will do everything I can to help Clintonville retain those special qualities.
If I can count on you for your vote, I promise you can count on me to be a strong advocate for you.
