Announce that the Committee is holding this special meeting under the authority of CAC Bylaw V.2.a, in which the Committee will “make the recommendation on the Commission’s behalf” because “a recommendation on a zoning matter must be reported to a City government body before the full Commission can properly meet and take action upon it….”
 
5. Variance agenda: BZA21-090, 5566 and 5568 N. High St.
The applicant seeks to allow a cat cafe in a C-4 District. CC3356.05, and to reduce the required parking from 30 to 13, CC3312.49.
 
6. Announce that the next regular meeting of the Zoning & Variance Committee will be September 29, 2021.

District 6 Commissioner Vacancy – Open Call for Candidates to Complete Term (through June 2022)

Hello everyone,

The District 6 Commissioner position remains open for candidates to complete petitions & be appointed by the CAC in the next meeting (Thursday October 7th).

  • This person would finish the remainder of the term that runs through June 2022 (roughly 10 months).
  • There would be no obligation to run for the new 3 year term as part of the 2022 election cycle unless appointed person decides to do so.

Any current resident within the District 6 boundaries is eligible to run for the position. Here are the boundaries of District 6 (roughly south of Graceland to Park of Roses on the west side of High Street):

  • Bounded on the south by the center line of Hollenback Drive and its westward projection, on the east by the center line of High Street, on the north by the south line of Sharon Township and its eastward projection and on the west by the Olentangy River.

The City of Columbus Blueprint Program is offering free sump pumps to people that live in the project area (attached) & is still in need of 131 more participants.

To qualify for a sump pump:

  1. The home must be a duplex or single family home;
  2. The home must not already have a sump pump (regardless of functionality); and
  3. The basement cannot be finished.

CAC District 6 Commissioner Vacancy – Open Call for Candidates

During the August session of the Clintonville Area Commission (Thursday August 5th), a vacancy was declared for the District 6 commissioner position due to the resignation of the current elected official.  With this opening now official, the process now begins to fill the open role with a goal to appoint the new commissioner at the September meeting

  • Candidate will fulfill the remainder of the term that runs through June 2022.
