CAC August 2nd Meeting

The monthly CAC meeting is 7 pm August 2nd at our usual location, the Whetstone Library Community Room. The “draft” agenda can be found in the Documents heading in the top row of the green banner in the file labeled “CAC Agendas”.

The CAC Zoning & Variance meeting Is July 31st at Clinton Hts Lutheran Church. The meeting begins at 7:30 pm. The  agenda can be found in the Documents heading in the top row of the green banner in the file labeled “CAC Agendas”.

These are public meetings, all are welcome to attend.

More West Nile= Spraying

From the Columbus Health Dept: There was a positive mosquito pool for West Nile Virus collected from a trap near Beechwold Church. This test was confirmed Friday, July 20th, by our staff. Due to this positive West Nile Virus mosquito pool, our Vector Control Program will be treating in Clintonville on Thursday, July 26th from 3:30 am-6:20 am.

The boundaries for Clintonville treatments on July 26th are as follows:

Chase Road to the North

Morse to the South

Indianola Ave. to the East

SR 315 and the Olentangy River to the West

The positive West Nile Virus pools do serve as a reminder for us to continue protecting ourselves from mosquito bites and to eliminate stagnant water from our properties including places such as gutters, rain barrels, and bird baths. One can also protect themselves from mosquito bites by using insect repellents and by minimizing their time spent outside during the late evening and early morning hours. Please let Ryan Younge, RS, the Vector Control Program Manager, know if you would like to discuss in further detail our mosquito reduction activities planned in Clintonville this week. Medical Marijuana Dispensary Q & A

Tony Celebreeze from Columbus BZS will present information about the medical marijuana dispensary slated for Clintonville at the July 31st Zoning and Variance meeting. The dispensary location is at the SE corner of Crestview and High. If you’d like to hear the information firsthand please attend the meeting. CAC will have no input on the dispensary. The meeting location is Clinton Hts Lutheran Church- Meeting begins at 7:30 pm and will run to apprx. 9 pm.

Positive West Nile Virus Pools = SPRAYING

 

FROM THE COLUMBUS HEALTH DEPT:

There were three separate positive mosquito pools for West Nile Virus collected from traps near Colerain Elementary School, Webster Park and W. Como Ave. These tests were confirmed Monday, July 9th, by our staff. Due to these positive West Nile Virus mosquito pools, our Vector Control Program will be treating in Clintonville, weather permitting, on Thursday, July 12th and Friday July 13th from 3:30 am-6:15 am.

 

The boundaries for the treatments on July 12th are as follows:

 

Henderson Road and Cooke Road to the North

North Broadway to the South

Indianola Ave. to the East

SR 315 and the Olentangy River to the West

 

The boundaries for this second treatment ON July 12th are as follows:

 

North Broadway to the North

West Tulane Rd. to the South

High Street to the East

SR 315 and the Olentangy River to the West

 

The boundaries for the treatment on July 13th are as follows:

CAC Monthly Meeting- July 5th- 7 pm

The Clintonville Area Commission meets on the first Thursday of each month. Meeting at the Whetstone Library Community room. This month’s agenda is short. Ryan Younge from the Columbus Health Department will offering a rat “refresher” course, the importance of eliminating food sources for rates, animal waster, bird feed etc.

The test was confirmed Thursday, June 28th, by The Ohio Department of Health’s Zoonotic Disease Laboratory. Due to this positive West Nile Virus mosquito pool, our Vector Control Program will be treating in Clintonville on Monday, July 2nd from 3:30 am-6:00 am.

The boundaries for the treatment are as follows:

Stanton Ave. to the North

Morse Road to the South

Indianola Ave. Road to the East

High Street to the West

High St and Henderson Rd Intersection Work

Due to the weather, the second phase of work for the High Street @ Henderson Road crosswalks will not be occurring. The Project Manager is working with the contractor to reschedule phase 2. Once information is received and reschedule another update will be posted.
