Business Community in the Short North Arts District Unites to Support Procession of the Late Senator John Glenn
Short North Arts District, Columbus, Ohio – Businesses in the Short North Arts District are uniting in support of the Late Senator John Glenn, whose funeral procession is due to pass through the Short North Arts District Saturday, Dec. 17 from 1 to 2 p.m..
“This grand procession, is a momentous occasion for our community to come together to honor our own great American hero,” said Betsy Pandora, Executive Director of the Short North Alliance.
“Senator John Glenn was a treasure not just to the nation, but to this community in particular,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “This procession offers all of us an opportunity to come together and pay our respects to this great man.”
Meters along High Street will be taken out of service starting at 2 a.m. and returned to service as soon as the procession exits a given area, approximately 2 p.m.Vehicles parked in the bagged metered spots need to be moved by 8 a.m. Saturday. If vehicles are not moved by 8 a.m., those vehicles will be towed to a nearby side street.
Rolling street closures and visitors will have continuous access to the Short North Arts District leading up to, during and after the procession.
The parking garage operators in the Short North Arts District will offer special parking accommodations during the event. These accommodations include:
· Free Parking until 2:00 pm at The Hub Apartments Parking Garage The Joseph Parking Garage.
· $3.00 all day parking at The Goodale Parking Garage, Vine Street Parking Garage, South Parking Garage, and East Parking Lot.
