Clintonville Area Commission Election Committee: Announcement of Candidates

The Election Committee of the Clintonville Area Commission is proud to announce the certified

petition and write-in candidates for the 2016 election.

 

In District 3, the candidate is current commissioner Libby Wetherholt. Ms. Wetherholt is a life-

long resident of Franklin County. She earned her bachelor’s of music education and master of

arts degrees from The Ohio State University. She spent her career as an intervention specialist

for Dublin City Schools.

 

Ms. Wetherholt and her husband Karl have been Clintonville residents since 1985 and raised

their son and daughter here. Both of their children attended Clinton Elementary and Clintonville

Academy. Ms. Wetherholt currently supervises student teachers for Ashland University. She is

very active at Broad Street Presbyterian Church. Other volunteer activities include serving on a

board at COSI and with her college fraternity and being a member at the Clintonville Woman’s

Club.

 

The District 6 candidate is current commissioner Randy Ketchum. Mr. Ketchum was born in

Clintonville and has lived here continuously since 1981. He is widowed with an adult son

who is a Lutheran pastor in northwest Ohio.

 

Mr. Ketchum has a college degree in journalism with a specialization in public relations.  He

worked as a public relations staff specialist at Rockefeller Center, Inc., New York City, but spent

the majority of his professional career directing public relations for Children's Hospital in

Columbus. In addition to the Clintonville Area Commission, his other community interests

include the Kiwanis Club of Northern Columbus, Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, and

volunteering for the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center

 

 

Christopher J. Allwein,  a write-in candidate, resides in District 8 with his wife, Elisabeth, and

their three children. They are life-long residents of Columbus and have lived in Clintonville since

2002.

 

Mr. Allwein is an energy and utility law attorney. He is an of counsel at the law firm of Kegler

Brown Hill & Ritter and has been recently named the Executive Director of Ohio Partners for

Affordable Energy, a non-profit that advocates for affordable energy policies for moderate and

low-income Ohioans. Mr. Allwein has a bachelor’s degree in history from The Ohio State

University and graduated from Capital University Law School in 2009.

 

Residents of Districts 3, 6, and 8 may cast ballots at Whetstone Library on Saturday, May 7 from

10am to 2pm. Early voting will occur on Tuesday, May 3, at Whetstone Library from 5:30pm to

8pm.

CAC Election Press Release

Proposed Resolution for Commercial Building Review Area

This proposal was presented at the 4/7/16 commission meeting to establish an architectural review for commercial corridors in Clintonville. The commission voted to request a review of the proposal by other affected CAC committees before submitting it to the city.  It is available here to download. Please contact your area Commissioner if you would like to comment on the proposal.
